Whoopi Goldberg Reveals She Endured Another Hospital Stay After 1st Pneumonia Scare
Whoopi Goldberg has had a rough couple of months! The comedienne/talk show host recently revealed to “The View” audience that less than a month after her near-fatal bout with pneumonia, she endured another hospital stay just last week! Fortunately, the 63-year-old said this sickness was a lot less serious. She said:
“I am here. I’m much better. I’m much, much better. I had a 24-hour bug, which landed me back in the hospital last week, which is why I missed y’all on Thursday. I seem to be doing well. I’m here.”
Starting in early February, Whoopi was absent from “The View” for more than a month. She informed fans and followers of her condition with an Instagram post. In the video, she said:
“I am here, I am up and moving around, not as fast as I’d like to be, but I am OK. So here is what happened. I had pneumonia, and I was septic. Pneumonia in both lungs which meant there was fluid and all kinds of stuff going on and yes I came very, very close to leaving the earth. Good news? I didn’t.”
She continued:
“Thank you for all of your good wishes. All of the wonderful things that people have been saying, even people who have not been huge fans of mine have actually said nice things about me. We all know that’s gonna change when I get back, but for right now it’s brilliant and thank you for everything.”
On March 14th, the “Color Purple” actress returned to the talk show to update fans on her condition.
We’re wishing Whoopi Goldberg good health for the rest of the year!
