As news of The Chi’s decision to part ways with Jason Mitchell makes its rounds, it’s been reported that one of the women who accused him of sexual misconduct was his TV girlfriend Tiffany Boone.

It’s not clear who the other women are, but Boone complained several times about Mitchell’s allegedly inappropriate conduct on the set, according to reports. The situation is said to have gotten to the point where her fiance Marque Richardson of Netflix’s Dear White People, had to come on the set when Boone and Mitchell did scenes together.

Ultimately, Boone allegedly told Fox 21 producers that she couldn’t work with Mitchell anymore. At first, he was kept on the show and producers allowed Boone to be released. Still, it’s not known what actually made the show pull the plug on Mitchell.
Along with The Chi, he was also dropped from a forthcoming Netflix comedy, Desperados. That film hadn’t started filming, and Mitchell has already been replaced with Lamorne Morris, known for his role in shows like New Girl.

One insider said movie heads received
“specific information which was investigated immediately and thoroughly and dealt with as quickly as possible.”
Insiders also said some of Mitchell’s co-stars on the movie, Nasim Pedrad, Anna Camp and Robbie Amell, complained about Mitchell’s alleged misconduct.

Another source said UTA, the agency that once represented Mitchell “made a very quick decision” to drop Mitchell, who starred in projects like Straight Outta Compton, Detroit and Mudbound, amid the allegations.
