Sephora Closing Stores For A Day To Conduct Diversity Training After SZA Says She Was Racially Profiled
Sephora is conducting a inclusion workshop on June 5th, shutting down 400 of its stores. The news comes after SZA claimed that she was racially profiled while shopping at one of it’s stores in California. The singer recounted her experience on social media writing:
“Sandy Sephora location 614 Calabasas called security to make sure I wasn’t stealing. We had a long talk. U have a blessed day Sandy”
“Can a b**** cop her fenty in peace er whut”

Sephora responded to SZA stating:
“You are a part of the Sephora family, and we are committed to ensuring every member of our community feels welcome and included at our stores. We want to let you know we take complaints like this very seriously and are actively working with our teams to address the situation immediately.”
Sephora’s initiative is part of the retailer’s new brand platform and tagline, “We Belong to Something Beautiful.” The training will also include employees in Sephora’s distribution centers and corporate offices, the company said.
