Leslie Jones Says ‘No More Sephora’ After Her Makeup Artist Was Treated Badly: She Was In Tears!
Leslie Jones said Sephora won’t be getting any more of her coins. She took to Twitter to express her disappointment in the beauty store’s treatment toward her makeup artist and a friend.
“I sent my makeup artist @LolasBeautyMark and my best friends wife to @Sephora 2103 Broadway store. she needed makeup and to learn how to apply. my makeup artist just called in tears of how bad they treated her and my friends wife!! The salesperson and manager. SO NO MORE SEPHORA”

Sephora did issue an apology to Jones.
“we’re very sorry to hear this. We have reached out via Instagram and hope to connect with you and your friends directly.”

Her makeup artist also gave a breakdown of what happened inside the store.

Interestingly enough, her encounter came a day before all U.S. Sephoras will close their doors for an hour for inclusivity training. The decision was announced after singer Sza called out Sephora workers in Calabasas, California for accusing her of stealing.

Sza

Even though Sephora apologized to Sza as well, the franchise made it clear that’s not why it was conducting the inclusivity training. It also pointed out its new “We Belong To Something Beautiful Campaign” is unrelated to Sza’s incident.
It responded to Sza’s tweet and said,
“Hi, SZA. We’re sorry to hear about your experience at our Calabasas store and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We want to let you know we take complaints like this very seriously and are actively working with our teams to address the situation immediately.”

It also released a statement.
“We have been informed of an incident at our Calabasas store and in addition to reaching out to SZA directly, we are gathering more information about the incident in order to take the proper next steps. We take complaints like this very seriously, profiling on the basis of race is not tolerated at Sephora. Our purpose has always been rooted in our people and ensuring that Sephora is an inclusive and welcoming space for all our clients.”
Still, it said in another statement,
“Sephora is a client-centric company and creating a welcoming space for all our clients is our top priority. The ‘We Belong to Something Beautiful’ campaign has been in the works for a year, and the plan to close our U.S. stores, distribution centers, call centers and corporate office for a one-hour inclusivity workshop with our 16,000 employees has been in development for over six months, timed with our first campaign chapter debuting on June 6th.”
“While it is true that SZA’s experience occurred prior to the launch of the ‘We Belong to Something Beautiful’ campaign, the campaign was not the result of this tweet. However, it does reinforce why belonging is now more important than ever.”
Fenty creator Rihanna showed Sza love and told her she could now shop Fenty in peace.

Meanwhile, other customers have complained about their experience with Sephora.
