Tiffany Haddish Cancels Show Over Abortion Ban
Tiffany Haddish has pulled the plug on her upcoming comedy show in Georgia, over their abortion policy. The comedian and actress is the latest celebrity to do so, taking a stand against the abortion policy known as the “heartbeat” bill. The show was to take place at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre.
Tiffany released a statement released to ticketholders saying:
“After much deliberation, I am postponing my upcoming show in Atlanta. I love the state of Georgia, but I need to stand with women and until they withdraw Measure HB481, I cannot in good faith perform there.”
The bill makes abortions illegal as soon as the embryonic or fetal heartbeat can be detected.
It is expected to go into effect on Jan. 1. Other Governors in Ohio, Kentucky, Louisiana and Mississippi have also signed similar versions of this bill earlier this year.
The Fox Theatre said that they will be offering refunds.
