Halle Berry Congratulates Halle Bailey On Landing Role In ‘The Little Mermaid’ Live-Action Remake ‘
Halle Berry is stanning for Halle Bailey! The John Wick actress saluted Bailey just hours after it was confirmed that she has been cast as Ariel in the live-action remake of Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Berry wrote,
“In case you needed a reminder… Halles get it DONE. Congratulations @chloexhalle on this amazing opportunity, we can’t wait to see what you do! #TheLittleMermaid#HalleBailey“

She added the same message in her Instagram story.

Bailey responded on Twitter and wrote,
“this means the world. happy to share names with you love you lots”

Zendaya Coleman, who was rumored to play Ariel, also congratulated Bailey.

The singer and actress, who is one-half of dynamic duo Chloe and Halle was announced as the lead role for the highly-anticipated project Wednesday afternoon.

She expressed her excitement over the role on social media.

The director of the film, Rob Marshall, said,
“After an extensive search, it was abundantly clear that Halle possesses that rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence and substance — plus a glorious singing voice — all intrinsic qualities necessary to play this iconic role.”
Also starring in the film are Awkwafina, who will voice the loveable seagull Scuttle, Melissa McCarthy, reportedly as Ursula, and Jacob Tremblay, who made his big-screen debut in The Smurfs 2 in 2013, as Flounder.
