‘Beverly Hills 90210’ Reboot Canceled After One Season

‘Beverly Hills 90210’ Reboot Cancelled After One Season
While the buzz around the reboot of “Beverly Hills: 90210” was strong over the summer, the show’s low ratings caused it to get canceled after just one season.
Fox announced the news Thursday (Nov. 7).
“We are so proud to have reunited in a very special summer event one of the network’s legacy series and casts with 90210 fans across the country. Profound thanks to and respect for Brian [Austin Green], Gabrielle [Carteris], Ian [Ziering], Jason [Priestley], Jennie [Garth], Shannen [Doherty] and Tori [Spelling], who, along with the entire crew and everyone at Fox and CBS Television Studios, poured their hearts and souls into this truly inventive and nostalgic revival.”
The six-episode season, which is described as an “event series” brought in a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demo, and 3.6 million viewers.
Green and Spelling opened up about the cancellation on social media.

He also thanked Lala for being a great on-screen wife.

But issues started before the show even began as the showrunner was changed and several writers (13 to be exact) quit during the season as Executive Producers Garth and Spelling attempted to mimic the style of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Spelling was hopeful that the show would continue for several seasons. She previously said,
“We have so many stories to tell that this could keep going on season after season.”
As for the cost of making the show come to life, reports say it was really low. The main stars brought in $70,000 per episode, which equals a $420,000 base salary for all six episodes. Garth and Spelling earned an extra $15,000 per episode for creating the actual show, and Priestly, who directed an episode, brought in another $46,000.
