Kanye West Drops New Sunday Service Album ‘Jesus Is Born’
Christian Rapper Kanye West is back with a new studio album featuring his signature Sunday Service Choir. Kanye West brought in Christmas Day with the release of Jesus Is Born. Kanye West’s newest release touts 19 songs, including a cover of West’s own “Ultralight Beam” and traditional gospel song “Balm In Gilead”. Kanye took to social media for his holiday release and posted the album cover, which features a peaceful ocean view with a slight reflection of the sun.

“Jesus Is Born” is another move in the gospel-rap direction for West, who began being vocal about his faith journey earlier this year. Kanye recently hinted at the album back in October, when he told Zane Lowe in an interview for Beats 1 that the project was set for an upcoming release.
He debuted his first opera called Nebuchadnezzar at L.A.’s Hollywood Bowl in November.

In addition, he made headlines after bringing his Sunday Service to Joel Osteen’s church in Houston. He told the congregation during his appearance:
“Because every time I stand up, I feel that I’m standing up and drawing a line in the sand and saying, ‘I’m here in service to God and no weapon formed against me shall prosper.’ Jesus has won the victory. I told you about my arrogance and cockiness already. Now the greatest artist that God has ever created is now working for him.”
