Mike Tyson Says He Hasn’t Cheated On His Wife In 2 Years & Would Kill Himself If He Didn’t Have Her + Admits His Children ‘Don’t Like Black Kids’
From heavyweight champion of the world to prison inmate to cannabis entrepreneur, Mike Tyson has been around the world and back several times! And he credits his life experiences for his current success. In an interview with rapper T.I. on his hit podcast, “ExpediTIously,” he says that none of this would be possible without his wife, Lakiha Spicer.
Mike Tyson said Lakiha helped pull him out of a financial slump:
“She swooped down on me, and told, ‘This is what we’re gonna do,’ and that’s what happened. That’s why I believe in what I believe in now. ‘Cause there’s no way this could be happening. There’s no way I could’ve been married to my wife. I’m not faithful enough. I’m just not that kind of guy. I don’t care about nothing enough more than my d*ck, so how am I gonna be faithful to somebody? But it worked! I got ten years with her. I got two years without every f***ing a b**** but my wife. For a n*gga like me, I had to have them everyday. I had to c** every second of the day! I’m the posterboy for sexual anonymous.”
He even went as far as to say he’d “kill himself” without a wife. Lakiha Spicer is his third:
“Without my wife, I’m a savage animal…I look at women differently as I get older. When I was younger, I viewed them as pleasure. Now that I’m older, I look at them as the half. It makes me realize that I’m a man. And at this stage in my life, they’re my teachers. If a man doesn’t have a little bit of fear of his wife, he’s not living his life right. That’s why I got married three times, ’cause I can’t live without a wife. If I don’t have a wife, I’ll kill myself. That’s real talk. I need somebody to listen to. I’m a soldier. I can’t think on my own. I need somebody to do it…I know myself.”
He dished to T.I. about what it was like having Tupac visit him in prison:
“[One of my favorite memories is] him coming to visit me in prison. And he’s talking and he’s so animated. And then, all of a sudden, he jumps on the table!…And I look at him and say, ‘Get down from there! Stop! Come down, now!’ So he gets down, and the guard was getting ready to come over, and I’m like, ‘What the f***!’…the guards didn’t like him. The prison didn’t really like him, ’cause when he came, the inmates got real rowdy and pumped up. That’s like a safety situation, so they really didn’t like him there…He was just an amazing guy. He was ahead of his time, and that’s why he’s not here with us no more.”
He says that he believes his relationship history has influenced his children’s preferences:
“You know what bothers me, too, man? And I gotta say this. Why my kids don’t like Black kids? They don’t date Black kids. Why is that?…sometimes I look at my daughter, and I see she’s attracted to white guys, and I think, ‘I didn’t set a good example as a Black man,’ then…they must have seen sometimes when I was vulnerable and said, ‘Hey, I don’t wanna be with no one like that. He’s scary.'”
As far as his legendary boxing career, Mike Tyson claims he has no beef with promoter Don King, but says he “steals too much:”
“Don King’s an interesting guy. I used to talk to Don, and Don is cool. I’m not not mad at Don anymore and stuff…I had a right to be mad. Don steals so f****in’ much- he can’t help it. I’m sorry, Don. Don’t get offended. But he knows I’m telling the truth. He just f****in’ steals- that f****in’ ‘ n*gga steals…”
He even recalled a time he had to steal back money from Don with the help of the bank:
“So I go to the bank, and I can’t find the money. I have some little f****in’ ‘ bullsh*t, 1.8 bullsh*t. But the f****in’ ‘ people in the bank hated [my ex-wife] Robin [Givens’s] guts so f****in’ much, [they said,] ‘We know where the account’s at!’ And they came over, that’s against the law! You can’t even do that! And they came, and they showed us the account…They got the money out the account, and gave us the money, so I got like $12-$14 million in cash! And you know how heavy that is!”
Lastly, he comments on being criticized for his trendsetting ring walk:
“One of the most infamous things that you had is the way you entered the ring. You just had like a hole in a towel that you threw over your head. [There] weren’t no music you had like one tone, ‘Hmmmmmm.’ Like, what the f*** was that? Who thought of that? I wanted to succeed. I don’t know, I just want to succeed.”
