Kobe Bryant — L.A. County Deputies Accused Of Sharing Graphic Photos Of Helicopter Crash
There is currently an investigation after photos of the helicopter crash that killed NBA star Kobe Bryant were shared.
According to the Los Angeles Times Thursday (Feb. 27), L.A. County sheriff’s deputies shared the photos.
The Sheriff’s Department told the publication that the
“matter is being looked into.”
It’s still not known how far the photos went or who allegedly shared them. It’s also not clear if the deputies who are allegedly involved took the photos themselves, or got them from another source.
One insider told The Times they saw one of the pictures on someone else’s phone in a place that had no relation to the actual current investigation into the crash, which also killed Kobe Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant and seven others.

Capt. Jorge Valdez revealed that his department had to reach out to the victims’ family members after The Times asked about the pictures.
While Sheriff Alex Villanueva said he wouldn’t reveal if the department got any complaints, Valdez said he was
“unaware of any complaint.”
The investigation has caused police in L.A. to receive more attention for slip-ups they’ve had with leaking photos of celebrities, like after an officer was terminated for allegedly leaking the photo of Rihanna after her then-boyfriend Chris Brown physically assaulted her.
Meanwhile, Kobe Bryant’s wife Vanessa Bryant has sued the helicopter company involved in the crash.
