‘Ride Along’ Director Tim Story Facing Lawsuit After 2-Year-Old Drowns In His Hot Tub

The director of 2014 comedy Ride Along is being sued after a toddler drowned in his hot tub.

According to reports, Miguel Raygoza-Castillo, the father of a two-year-old boy who died after falling into Tim Story’s hot tub has filed a lawsuit after the November tragedy. The child, I’M, was rushed to the hospital and put on life support, but unfortunately passed away just days later as the family opted to remove the life support.

The father is asking for medical costs and the expenses for the funeral, along with pain and suffering.

A GoFundMe page for the expenses has raised $1,680 as of Thursday morning (March 5).

It reads,

“On Monday, November 18, 2019, 2 year old I’M accidentally fell into a pool and was found unresponsive. Little I’M fought bravely for his life for days, but he never regained consciousness. Today, Friday November 22, I’M’s family faced the difficult decision to take him off life support.  Our family has known I’M’s family for 20+ years and we are all beyond devastated by his passing.

Although no amount of money can bring Iam back to his family, your kind donations can help alleviate part of the financial strain his family is now facing. NO AMOUNT IS TOO SMALL! All funds will be used to help Iam’s family with medical & funeral expenses, which are many. We truly appreciate your generosity and are very grateful for everyone’s prayers. The family alleges that the fateful hot tub didn’t have the proper fencing, alarms or warning signs.

California regulations that were green-lighted in 2018 call for those who own a pool or hot tub to comply with a minimum of two of seven safety regulations. Those include removable fencing and an alarm that will go off if someone falls into the pool.

Tim Story’s wife, Vicky Story, has also been named in the suit. [Daily Mail]
