Tina Lawson Says “Everyone Doesn’t Have The Same Story” As She Shares Old Video Of Beyonce Discussing Not Being Raised In The Projects & Attending Private School [VIDEO]

Ms. Tina Lawson is no stranger to posting on the gram. Between posting her self titled ‘corny joke time’ videos to posting about her loving husband, its never a dull moment on Beyonce’s mother’s Instagram page.

On Saturday, (March 28th), the 66-year-old entrepreneur and philanthropist posted an old interview of Beyoncé Knowles-Carter explaining her upbringing and that she was not raised in the projects, in fact was raised in private school and in a middle class household as opposed to her character Dina in the movie Dreamgirls.

In the 2006 musical drama film Dreamgirls, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter plays a character by the name of Deena Jones who grew up in the projects of Detroit, Michigan.

Tina Knowles-Lawson captioned the video,

“Everyone does not have the same story. This is an old interview with a journalist that put all black people in a box. We are like everybody else We all have a different motivation. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter where you came from, it’s where you wind up, and use what you have in your arsenal to be successful. . What was your motivation?

She continues,

“Disregard the rich comment, guys that’s just what the first post said. Not important or true. By the way! I grew up poor very poor and living in the projects would have been better housing than our house. Soo sad that some of you only heard one part and jumped to the negative! So would you be more comfortable with her pretending to have grown up in the projects so that she could have that fake story. Please don’t miss the point that We as black people have many stories! And sometimes the media stereotypes us! That is the point of this!! read people.”

She ends with,

“This was an interview after the movie Dream girls where interview after interview she was assumed to have the same story as her character Deena. She respected and admired Deana’s story it just wasn’t her story.”
