Tia Mowry-Hardrict Deletes Tweet About ‘Seeing Who Your Real Friends Are’ Amid Pandemic, Faces Backlash
Actress Tia Mowry-Hardrict is in hot water amid her comments regarding the coronavirus. While nearly the entire country is quarantined to their homes during the global pandemic, it can be a struggle to stay in touch with friends and family. However, Tia Mowry-Hardrict, seemingly, thinks your effort matches your level of care for your home team. On Sunday (April 5), the “Family Reunion” star tweeted:
“During this pandemic, you really see who your real friends are.”
She continued:
“Who’s checking up on you? Making sure [you] are okay? Remember that when all this over?”
Tia noticeably deleted the tweet amid criticism that her sentiments were selfish – seeing that many are under immense pressure and stress trying to keep their families healthy, and themselves sane during the lock-down.
Media personality Devi Brown gave her take on the tweet:
“Yes, but also, everyone is doing the best they can and it’s so important yo be making sure YOU are good first before trying to do anything for anyone else. Everyone is going through it. Self preservation isn’t selfish.”
Another Twitter user said:
“Take into consideration that no one has ever experienced this before and may be trying to cope in ways you have never seen. As a psychotherapist Im seeing all kinds of out of the ordinary behavior. Be gentle.”
