Vanessa Bryant Honors Kobe Bryant On What Would Have Been Their 19th Wedding Anniversary
It’s been almost 3 months since the tragic passing of NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna Bryant. His wife Vanessa Bryant (37), is still dealing with the painful loss while honoring her late husband every chance she gets. Vanessa Bryant took to Instagram (April 18th) sharing a heartwarming message with an old picture of her and late husband Kobe Bryant on what would have been their 19th wedding anniversary. Vanessa captioned the photo,
“My king, my heart, my best friend. Happy 19th wedding anniversary baby. I miss you so much. I wish you were here to hold me in your arms. I love you”
Sadly, this will be the first year Vanessa Bryant celebrates her wedding anniversary without her husband. On January 26th 2020, Kobe Bryant, 41, his daughter Gianna “Gigi” Bryant 13, and seven others passed away in a tragic helicopter crash.
Vanessa Bryant continued to celebrate her wedding anniversary by sharing a throwback video of Kobe Bryant doing an interview with MTV in 2001. In the video, Kobe expresses his love for his wife,
“You know, it’s hard to pinpoint what exactly makes a person the one for you, but you just know… I mean, love is a funny thing, I can’t explain it and I don’t understand it but all I know is she caught my heart and I just knew she was the one.”
The couple met back in 1999 on set of a music video shoot. At the time, Kobe was 20 years old and Vanessa was 17 years old. They got married in April 2001 and went on to have 4 children together: Natalia, 17, Bianka, 3, Capri, 9 months, and Gianna, who died at the age of 13 alongside her father.
We continue to send our love to Vanessa Bryant and her family!
