Amber Riley Wants To Star In The Live Remake Of Disney’s ‘Hercules’
Riding the success of films like, The Lion King, and Mulan – Walt Disney Studios is reportedly making the animated classic, Hercules, its next live-action remake. According to The Dis-Insider, Jeffery Silver and Karen Gilchrist of their Lion King crew have already been tapped to produce the project. Meanwhile, the studio is reportedly shuffling through three directors for consideration: Jon Favreau, the Russo Brothers, and Gore Verbinski.
The 1997 original is an animated film about the Greek mythology god, Hercules, being forced to live among mortal civilians and proving himself worthy of residing on Mount Olympus with the other gods. But Black Twitter has made it known who the real stars of the movie are: the gospel/soul-singing Muses.
Since rumblings of he Hercules remake have surfaced, singer/actress Amber Riley made it known that she was interested in starring as one of the Muses. She tweeted:
“Um, hello @DisneyStudios remember me! #AmberAsAMuse”

The buzz became so strong that Amber Riley started trending on Twitter.
Immediately following her tweet, social media users spoke up on her behalf – rooting for the star of NBC’s “The Wiz” to be cast. Other big names thrown in the mix to join Amber were Lizzo, Jennifer Hudson, and Kelly Rowland.
