Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Reacts To Former WWE Star’s Shad Gaspard Death: This One Hurts
Actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has spoken out about the unfortunate passing of his former WWE star Shad Gaspard, whose body was discovered on the shore of Venice Beach Wednesday (May 20). We previously reported that Shad Gaspard went missing after he and his son went swimming at Venice Beach, but got caught in a current. When lifesavers went out to rescue the pair, Shad Gaspard directed the guards to save his son first.
Before they could return, Gaspard was swept by a tide and was no longer able to be spotted. Two days later, the Los Angeles Fire Department called off the search for Gaspard, while his wife Siliana Gaspard pleaded for anybody with information on his whereabouts to reach out to her on social media. Unfortunately, his body was discovered and he was confirmed dead.
In his heartbreaking Instagram post to his dearly departed friend, Dwayne Johnson wrote:
This one hurts. Great guy. My deepest condolences and love to Shad Gaspard’s wife, son and family. Shad drowned in the ocean, but not before instructing lifeguards to save his 10yr old son first. That’s the love of a father. This is a tough one to process. Love and light to Shad’s family. And your warrior spirit lives on through your son.

The Rock’s loss comes just months after he mourned his father, WWE Hall of Famer Rocky “Soulman” Johnson. The Rock explained that he died of a massive heart attack. He was 75-years-old.
Prayers for Shad Gaspard’s family, friends and loved ones!
