House & Senate Democrats Slammed After Kneeling In Silence Wearing Kente Cloth
Twitter is having a field day after a video of House and Senate Democrats kneeling and wearing kente cloth surfaced. In the clip, the legislators kneeled for 8 minutes and 46 seconds in remembrance of George Floyd. The group, which consisted of Hilary Clinton, Kamala Harris, and Nancy Pelosi, to name a few, came together at the United States Capitol in Emancipation Hall, named by Congress to recognize the enslaved laborers and craftsmen who helped build the U.S. Capitol.
Almost immediately, Twitter began tweeting their reactions and memes.

One Twitter user took note of the absence of former presidential candidate and actress, Rosario Dawson’s boyfriend, Cory Booker.

Another user admitted that she didn’t see the use of kente cloth coming. Kente stoles, traditionally worn by African royalty, has grown in popularity amongst the African American community, showing solidarity with blacks while honoring their heritage.
