Lil Baby Releases Powerful Song ‘The Bigger Picture’

Atlanta rapper Lil’ Baby (real name Dominique Jones) is putting his frustration with police brutality to pen and paper with a politically charged song that touches on the killing of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter protests all around the world. On Thursday evening (June 11th), Lil’ Baby shared a short teaser of his latest track, which is titled “The Bigger Picture.” On the track, the 25-year-old rapper’s anxiety can be hear in Lil Baby quick flow with his own complicated feelings about violence. He raps,

“People speaking for the people / I’m proud of ‘em/ Stick together we can get it up out of ‘em / I can’t lie like I don’t rap about killing and dope / But I’m telling my youngins’ to vote / I did what I did cuz I didn’t have no choice or no hope.”

Lil Baby also announced that proceeds from the song will go to three organizations.

As previously reported, the rapper recently had his own viral experience with aggressive police officers after being stopped in Atlanta in February (2020). According to reports, Lil Baby, faced charges from eluding police, reckless driving, and failure to signal.

In aviral video, bystanders were on scene and recording Baby being placed in handcuffs, faced down next to an orange Corvette.

At the time, Baby released a statement on social media about his experience with the officers:

“If you go on high speed chase or if they think you running protocol is to approach vehicle guns drawn to kill. That’s Crazyyyyy.”

Baby was later spotted being released from an Atlanta city jail.
