Republican Florida Rep., Ted Yoho, Accused Of Calling Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez A ‘F***ing B****’ During A Heated Exchange
Republican Representative Ted Yoho has issued an apology to Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after reports stated that he called her a “f***ing b****” during a heated exchange.
Ted Yoho’s office denied that the politician made the derogatory comment in a statement the following day. Instead, the statement said Ted Yoho
“made a brief comment to himself as he walked away summarizing what he believes her policies to be: bullsh*t.”
The comment was reportedly overheard by a reporter from The Hill. That reporter stated that Ted Yoho allegedly approached Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez outside of the House steps and initiated a conversation regarding her stance on unemployment and crime in the New York City area.
The reporter alleged that Yoho told Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that she was “disgusting” and out of her mind.
Ocasio-Cotrez backed the reporter’s comments with claims that Yoho was being disrespectful. The day after the encounter, Ocasio-Cortez confirmed that the confrontation between her and Yoho did take place, on Twitter.
She tweeted:
“I never spoke to Rep. Yoho before he decided to accost me on the steps of the nation’s Capitol yesterday. Believe it or not, I usually get along fine w/ my GOP colleagues. We know how to check our legislative sparring at the committee door. But hey, ‘b*tches’ get stuff done.”

Wednesday morning (July 22), Yoho apologized on the House floor to Ocasio-Cortez for the “abrupt manner of the conversation” they shared, however, he continued to deny that he used to foul phrase in reference to her.
He stated that he never used the
“offensive name-calling, words attributed to me by the press.”
He added that it
“is true that we disagree on policies and visions for America, but that does not mean we should be disrespectful.”
Yoho’s communication director added,
“[Yoho] did not call Rep. Ocasio-Cortez what has been reported in the Hill or any name for that matter. It sounds better for the Hill newspaper and gets more media attention to say he called her a name – which he did not do. It is unfortunate that Rep. Ocasio-Cortez is using this exchange to gain personal attention.”
“I will not teach my nieces and young people watching that this an apology, and what they should learn to accept,” she wrote. “Yoho is refusing responsibility.”
Yoho states that he is dedicated to acting out of a place of “passion” and “comprehension”.
“I will commit to each of you that I will conduct myself from a place of passion and understanding that policy and political disagreement be vigorously debated with the knowledge that we approach the problems facing our nation with the betterment of the country in mind and the people we serve. I cannot apologize for my passion or for loving my God, my family and my country.”
