Jamie Foxx To Star In & Executive Produce Comedy Series Inspired By His Daughter, Corinne
The deal has been closed, and Jamie Foxx is heading to Netflix! According to reports, the superstar Oscar winner will star in and executive produce the comedy series, “Dad Stop Embarrassing Me,” that was inspired by his eldest daughter, Corinne Bishop, 26.

In 2013 it was announced that Jamie Foxx was developing the television series inspired by the relationship he had with his then-18-year-old daughter. The series that was scripted for TNT at the time was described as the following:
Every teenager is embarrassed by his/her parents. But what if your dad decided to descend upon your life in every way? Inspired by Jamie Foxx’s relationship with his 18-year-old daughter, this comedy explores the dynamic between a parent and a child and all the embarrassment that comes with it.
Corinne will also produce the comedy that will feature Jamie Foxx’s first regular role on a scripted TV series since The Jamie Foxx Show ended in 2001.

Bentley Kyle Evans, who worked with Foxx on the actor’s self-titled WB sitcom in the 1990s, will serve as showrunner and Modern Family and Black-ish veteran Ken Whittingham will direct every episode.
Currently, Foxx is staying busy. He is starring in Project Power, a Netflix feature that premiered Aug. 14 that’s about
“an ex-soldier, a teen and a cop colliding in New Orleans as they hunt for the source behind a dangerous new pill that grants users temporary superpowers.”
In addition, the actor/singer has officially confirmed that the long awaited Mike Tyson biopic is moving forward. Jamie confirmed the film stating:
“a definitive yes. Look, doing biographies is a tough thing, sometimes it takes 20 years to get them done. But we officially got the real ball rolling.”
Foxx explained how he is preparing for the role:
“We want to show everybody evolves, I think when we lay the layer of Mike Tyson in this story, I think everybody from young and old will be able to understand this man’s journey. And then just the technology of how I’m gonna look, I guarantee you people will run up on me in the street, and ask for autographs, and think that I’m Mike. Every other day, I do 60 pull-ups, we do 60 dips, we do 100 push-ups. I ain’t got no calf muscles, so we might have to get some prosthetics for that.”
Reportedly, Jamie Foxx and Queen Latifah will both executive produce the Mahalia Jackson biopic to star Jill Scott.
