Kanye West Spent More Than $3 Million To Gather Signatures So He Can Get On Presidential Ballots

Kanye West’s run for president is becoming a pricey one.

It was previously reported that the rapper has dished out almost $6 million toward his campaign since tossing his hat in the ring for President on the 4th of July.

Now, new reports say that Kanye West has spent more than $3 million to garner enough signatures to get on the ballot in several states this November.

An insider from Let the Voters Decide told TMZ that Kanye West has paid the company anywhere from $3.5 million to $4.5 million to help get enough signatures in 15 states. Unfortunately for West, it hasn’t been completely profitable for him.

He reportedly paid $1 million to get 93,000 signatures in Arizona, $325,000 for Ohio and $300,000 for Virginia, but won’t be on the ballot in any of those states.

Still, his name will appear on the ballot for 12 states like Kentucky. He reportedly spent $400,000 to get enough signatures for that state. He’ll also be on the ballot in Iowa, where he reportedly paid $80,000 for help getting signatures.

Kanye West’s struggle to get on ballots has been a very public one. Recently, he failed to get on the Wisconsin ballot because he filed the required documents 14 seconds too late.

Judge John Zakowski wrote:

“The court believes at the time a grandfather clock rings out five times is the moment it is 5 p.m. Any time after that is precisely that: after 5 p.m.”

“The court used the analogy of midnight. There is significant difference between 11:59:59 p.m. and one second after midnight. The passage of a second after midnight confers an entirely new day.”

He also failed to get on the ballot in his home state, Illinois, after he didn’t get the required 2,500 signatures as an independent candidate.

Kanye rejoiced over a majority the ballots he did make it on via Twitter last month.
