Travis Scott Sued By Video Game Company, Allegedly Copied Their Controller Design
Travis Scott has seemingly been having a good year so far career-wise. However, one of the projects that the 29-year-old rapper is tied to may put his hot streak on pause. According to reports, Travis Scott and his Cactus Jack label are being sued in federal court by the gaming company KontrolFreek for allegedly copying their thumbstick design. KontrolFreek claims that during virtual concerts that Travis Scott held earlier this summer (for the popular video game Fortnight) he and his label marketed a knock-off version of their design. The lawsuit states that Travis and Cactus Jack edited KontrolFreek’s copyright-protected images of their design and added the Cactus Jack logo to the thumbstick.

KontrolFreek feels that this lead to confusion from fans on if they were working together with the ‘Goosebumps’ rapper or not. KontrolFreek also alleges after they contacted Travis Scott and his team in May regarding the issue they were asked
“if KontrolFreek would be willing to manufacture the Cactus Jack Thumbsticks for [Travis Scott], and at no cost.”
In addition to allegedly stealing their design, KontrolFreek also said in their suit that Travis Scott copied their packaging and slogan as well.
According to reports, KontrolFreek is asking in their suit for any profits Travis Scott made off of his product as well as damages. They’re also asking that any remaining stock be destroyed.
