Kanye West Sued For $1 Million By The Staff Of His Opera For Unpaid Wages & Failure To Pay Minimum Wage
Kanye West is being sued over his Kanye West Nebuchadnezzar Opera that took place late last year at the Hollywood Bowl.
The 17,500-capacity show released just weeks after his Jesus Is King album debuted.
Workers of the show are suing $1 million dollars for unpaid wages and failing to pay minimum wage, the way they were treated, as well as accounting for overtime hours.
The 50-minute show was deemed to allegedly be a “money grab.” Kanye West was only on stage for the photocall portion of the show.
In court documents, a hairstylist from the show alleges that they are using for: unpaid wages, continuing wages, damages, civil penalties, statutory penalties and attorney’s fees, and other costs.
She also said that she wasn’t paid on time for her daily rate and other fees.
According to documents:
“Defendants oversaw, controlled and ran the production, and the aggrieved employees worked many hours on the production and were not timely paid for their work, or paid at all.”

Check out a few moments from the show below.

This latest lawsuit comes after Kanye West was recently sued for $20 million by a company that says he stole its technology to pull off his Sunday Service shows.
No word from Kanye West as of yet on the allegations.
