Actress Letitia Wright Can’t Explore Online Dating Without Someone Yelling ‘Oh My God! Wakanda Forever!’
Actress Letitia Wright, 27, is enjoying the heights of her career as she stars in another powerful role as Jones-LeCointe in Steve McQueen’s Mangrove, the first installment of Small Axe anthology: five films centering London’s West Indian community, stretching from the late 1960s through to the mid-1980s.
While her career is on an upward trajectory after a memorable performance as Shuri in Marvel Studios’ Black Panther, Wright’s dating life, on the other hand is at a standstill, according to the actress who recently opened up in an interview about wanting to find love.
Wright spoke candidly about being ready to find someone, but without the online dating apps. She said,
“I just need to meet the one person that’s for me and that’s it. Done. I don’t need to do all that website stuff.”
She discussed meeting up with an actress friend of hers who has the ability to explore online, but expresses that her situation is a bit different.
She continued,
“She has the benefit of exploring without somebody going, ‘Oh my God! Wakanda Forever!’ She doesn’t have that problem.”
The Guyanese actress continued on,
“Everybody’s like, ‘Hey, you have successful friends – they’re cute’, and I’m like, ‘Yeah, but they’re dating every girl they fancy. You don’t want that. Like oh, dang – you’ve got five chicks? I’m not trying to be number six. I’m just trusting that I will find the person that’s for me when the time is right. My friends have told me I’m too passive. They’re like, ‘You need to do something about it.’”
Letitia Wright who admits that she has a “thing about not wanting my heart to be broken,” continues to delight in her career as an actress but is unwilling to let anyone impede on that. She concludes,
“This is what God wants me to do, so if you’re mature enough to see that, great, amazing, cool, let’s go. But if you’re not – don’t hit my DMs. Just don’t.”
