From COVID-19 to heightened racial injustice, it’s no secret 2020 has been quite the year for most of us, but Barack Obama has shown love to the music that helped him get through it.
The former president shared his favorite songs of the year on Instagram Saturday (Dec. 19th). He revealed in the caption that he received help from his 19-year-old daughter Sasha Obama.

He wrote:
“Here are some of my favorite songs of the year. As usual, I had some valuable consultation from our family music guru, Sasha, to put this together. I hope you find a new song or two to listen to.”
Some of the faves that made the list include Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage” Remix feat. Beyonce, “Franchise” by Travis Scott feat. Young Thug & M.I.A., and “The Biggest Picture” by Lil Baby.

J. Cole’s “The Climb Back”, H.E.R.’s hit song “Damage”, and Jhene Aiko’s “Summer 2020” was also shown love on the list, along with “Lemonade” by Internet Money feat. Don Toliver, Gunna & NAV, and “Blue World” by late rapper Mac Miller.
