Beyonce To Give $5,000 Grants To 100 People At Risk Of Eviction Amid COVID-19 Pandemic
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact businesses and families, Beyonce is stepping in to help prevent even more people from losing their homes.
Beyonce’s BeyGOOD foundation rolled out its initiative to provide $5,000 grants to 100 people who are impacted by the eviction crisis amid the coronavirus pandemic.
A statement from the organization reads:
“Beyoncé is continuing her heart of support and helping where needed most. Phase Two of the BeyGOOD Impact Fund will now help those impacted by the housing crisis. The housing moratorium is set to end on December 26th, resulting in mortgage foreclosures and rental evictions. Many families are impacted, due to the pandemic that resulted in job loss, sickness and overall economy downturn.”
It continues:
“This holiday season, while many are stressed with what they will do next regarding their housing, we are proud to share some GOOD news. Beyoncé is giving $5k grants to individuals and families facing foreclosures or evictions.”
Those interested in receiving help are required to submit an application with the NAACP.
Earlier this year, BeyGOOD and NAACP teamed up to provide grants to black-owned small businesses.
Beyonce and her mother Tina Lawson, also hosted a COVID-19 testing drive in their hometown, Houston, earlier this year.
