Donald Trump Blocked From Posting On Instagram & Facebook For The Rest Of His Presidency, Could Last ‘Indefinitely’
Facebook and Instagram are taking action against Donald Trump in the final days of his presidency.
While his controversial tweets became trending topics during his term, the 45th president will no longer be able to post on either social media platform for the rest of his presidency, at minimum.
Mark Zuckerberg explained that the decision comes after violence and protests erupted on the capitol as Congress was set to confirm Joe Biden’s victory for the presidential election.
Mark Zuckerberg said in a statement:
“The shocking events of the last 24 hours clearly demonstrate that President Donald Trump intends to use his remaining time in office to undermine the peaceful and lawful transition of power to his elected successor, Joe Biden. His decision to use his platform to condone rather than condemn the actions of his supporters at the Capitol building has rightly disturbed people in the US and around the world. We removed these statements yesterday because we judged that their effect — and likely their intent — would be to provoke further violence.”
He continued that the ban will last for at least two weeks, once the transition to Joe Biden is done and Donald Trump is no longer president. He also suggested it could last “indefinitely.”
“We believe the risks of allowing the President to continue to use our service during this period are simply too great. Therefore, we are extending the block we have placed on his Facebook and Instagram accounts indefinitely and for at least the next two weeks until the peaceful transition of power is complete.”
Donald Trump reportedly urged violence on the Capitol as his supports stormed the historic building to protest Congress confirming Joe Biden won the presidency. Twitter deleted those tweets.

As previously reported, Donald Trump refused to concede the election amid Joe Biden’s victory, stating that it was rigged and filled with election fraud.
