DaBaby Arrested In Beverly Hills For Allegedly Carrying Loaded Firearm
Rapper DaBaby, real name Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, is reportedly in custody after being arrested in Beverly Hills Thursday, Jan. 7th.
He was reportedly leaving a Moncler store on Rodeo Drive when he was stopped.
A police report obtained by USA Today states that security in the store called police on DaBaby and his three friends, who were heading south on Rodeo Drive. The statement reads:
“They reported that one of the subjects had a weapon in his waistband while in the store.”
It adds that the group of men went back to their car and were stopped at 4:45 pm before DaBaby was arrested. He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle.
The statement adds:
The other subjects that were with Kirk were detained and released at the scene. Kirk was released from the Beverly Hills Police Department on a $35,000 bond.”
DaBaby’s court date is scheduled for March 25 at the Airport Courthouse in Los Angeles.
While his rap career has put him in the spotlight, DaBaby said last month that he plans to retire in five years.
“Billion Dollar Baby Entertainment [in] five years [is] definitely gonna be one of the hottest labels in the game. I’ma be retired in five years. I won’t be rapping. I’ll be creating other superstars.”
He added that he also wants a biopic on his life, where he would play himself.
“I’ve already been sent scripts. Yeah, I would fo’sho. From a younger age, then all the way up until the present time.
I’ll take it there. I gotta crazy story. My story’s crazy and it keeps getting crazier. I seen it all. That’s gonna be a good one.”
