Scottie Pippen’s Oldest Child Passes Away: I’m Heartbroken [CONDOLENCES]
NBA legend Scottie Pippen is sadly morning the loss of his oldest son, Antron.
He shared the news on Twitter Monday (April 19), and wrote,
“I’m heartbroken to share that yesterday, I said goodbye to my firstborn son Antron. The two of us shared a love for basketball and we had countless conversations about the game.”
The former Chicago Bulls star explained,
“Antron suffered from chronic asthma and if he hadn’t had it, I truly believe he would’ve made it to the NBA. He never let that get him down, though—Antron stayed positive and worked hard, and I am so proud of the man that he became.”
He ended by asking for prayers for Antron’s mother, Karen.
“Please keep his mom, Karen, and all of his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. A kind heart and beautiful soul gone way too soon. I love you, son, rest easy until we meet again”
Fans immediately shared their condolences and support for Scottie Pippen and his family during their difficult time.
Scottie Pippen has a total of seven children. Along with Antron, who was 33, he is father to twins Taylor and Tyler Pippen, 26, Sierra Pippen, also 26, Scottie Pippen, Jr., 20, Preston Pippen, born in 2002, Justin Pippen, born in 2005, and Sophia Pippen, born in 2008.
