Choreographer Frank Gatson Criticizes BET’s Upcoming Singing Group Show, Says “June’s Diary” Can ‘Out Sing’ Any Ladies The Network Puts Together
Famous choreographer Frank Gatson doesn’t seem too pleased with BET’s upcoming series. theJasmineBrand exclusively reported earlier this year that a singing group competition show was in the works at BET.

BET has recently confirmed our speculations and announced that they are creating a show called BET Presents The Encore, where former girl group members are going to come together and create the next big R&B supergroup. This isn’t the first time BET has tried its hands at a singing group competition show. In 2016, Frank Gatson hosted the series Chasing Destiny for the network alongside Kelly Rowland. The show ultimately produced the R&B girl group June’s Diary, who Frank Gatson now manages.
Frank Gatson shared his thoughts on BET’s upcoming project online and said that the ladies of June’s Diary will outsing any new group BET puts together. He wrote,
“[ June’s Diary] will out sing and outperform any of those girl group members they are trying to put together.”
He also mentioned BET directly and added,
“[June’s Diary] is the supergroup @BET”

BET Presents The Encore will be a 10-episode series and will feature the likes of many famous R&B ladies such as; Pamela Long of Total, Shamari DeVoe of Blaque, Irish & LeMisha Grinstead of 702, Aubrey O’Day of Danity Kane, Kiely Williams of 3LW, and Felisha & Fallon King of Cherish. The series is set to premiere on BET on June 9th.
June’s Diary has yet to comment as a group on BET’s latest TV endeavor.
