Floyd Mayweather’s Ex-Fiancée Shantel Jackson Drops 2014 Lawsuit Against Him, Previously Accused Him Of Assault & Stealing $3 Million In Jewelry From Her
Floyd Mayweather’s ex-girlfriend Shantel Jackson has dropped her lawsuit against the boxer.
Shantel Jackson sued Floyd Mayweather in 2014, alleging he assaulted her and stole $3 million in jewelry from her (including a $2.5 million diamond ring, $250,000 diamond earrings, a $32,000 Chanel watch, a $100,000 diamond bracelet, and a $21,000 Louis Vuitton lock necklace).
She accused him of battery, defamation, and invasion of privacy after he shared her medical records concerning a terminated pregnancy on social media. She sued for an unspecified amount in damages, but now she wants to drop the case as she and Floyd Mayweather are said to have privately reached a settlement, according to Radar Online. The court reportedly obliged and closed the case.
Shantel Jackson, who has been dating Nelly since 2014, said back when she filed her lawsuit:
“I loved Floyd deeply, but he continued to disappoint and intentionally hurt me. … I have been embarrassed and humiliated more than I can ever imagine by Floyd, whom I once called my best friend and fiancée. It was with a heavy heart that I finally realized the only way to set the record straight and achieve justice for what he has done to me, is filing this lawsuit.”
In turn, Mayweather filed a countersuit and accused her of stealing cash from him and using his credit cards. Additionally, he sued over a recording Jackson made of him, claiming she:
“intentionally used one or more recording devices to surreptitiously record conversations with Mayweather including telephonic conversations and conversations in the presence of one another without Mayweather’s knowledge or consent.”
Jackson admitted to the recording and explained she
“reasonably believed that she was obtaining evidence relating” to the crimes of extortion “and/or felonies involving violence against her and/or domestic violence.”
It looks like they were able to settle things outside of court.
