Marlon Wayans Says The Hilton Sisters Were The Inspiration Behind The Cult Classic Film ‘White Chicks’
Since its release in 2004, the American comedy film White Chicks has become a fan favorite by many movie lovers. The film stars Shawn Wayans and Marlon Wayans, who helped write the screenplay and were also producers. Their brother, Keenen Ivory Wayans directed the project. White Chicks is about two black men who are FBI agents that go undercover as white women to solve a kidnapping plot. The movie reportedly grossed $113.1 million worldwide.
Recently Marlon Wayans, 48, revealed that the cult classic film was inspired by socialite/businesswoman Paris Hilton, 40, and her younger sister Nicky Hilton Rothschild, 37. The actor shared a picture of himself with Paris Hilton to his Instagram page and shared in the caption that she’s where his family got the idea for White Chicks from. He wrote,
“The original “white chick” and I… funny story one day my brother [Shawn Wayans] calls me at 3am saying “marlon we should play white chicks”… i replied “n*gga, you high?”. The next day he showed me a magazine with @parishilton and her sister on the cover and said we should play gurls [sic] like this. I immediately got it. They were so big and was the gateway to pop culture send up. We did that film in good spirit to celebrate a special time in all of our lives. So thank you paris and Nikki for being muses. Love ya. When we do #whitechicks2 “let’s go shopping”
As previously reported, in 2019 Marlon Wayans shut down rumors that White Chicks 2 was ready for production after one of his co-stars said the movie was coming soon. Actor Terry Crews, who played Latrell Spencer in the film, told Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen that part two of the movie is a go. He said,
“I actually got with Shawn [Wayans] and he was like ‘Man we’re doing it, we’re getting it going… [it was] 15 years ago. As of this month, 15 years. I’m staying in shape just for that movie. I’ve been working out for 15 years just so we can do ‘White Chicks 2.’”
Marlon Wayans wasted no time in sharing via his IG that what Terry Crews claimed wasn’t necessarily true. He wrote,
“My face when @terrycrews tells the world #whitechicks2 is happening but we still don’t have a deal in place… now every fanworld wise dms excitedly “IS THIS TRUE”?! Um… NO! Not yet. #ohterry“
