Kyrie Irving Blasts Nike’s New Kyrie 8 Shoes: These Are Trash & I Have Absolutely Nothing To Do With Them! [PHOTOS]

Kyrie Irving is not a fan of his latest signature Nike shoe–and he’s making it known!

Yesterday (Wednesday, July 28th), an Instagram page focusing on sneaker content–@k11kicks–shared leaked photos of the new Kyrie 8 Nike shoes. Kyrie Irving has had a highly successful shoe deal with Nike since signing with the brand back in 2011.

After the sneaker account revealed the leaked photos of the Kyrie 8 shoes, Kyrie Irving himself commented and expressed his dislike of the new shoe. Kyrie Irving also claimed he had nothing to do with the shoe’s design and that Nike was releasing it without his approval. The NBA star wrote:

“I have nothing to do with the design or marketing of the upcoming #Kyrie8, IMO these are trash! I have Absolutely nothing to do with them! Nike plans to release it without my okay regardless of what I say, so I apologize in advance to all of my sneaker heads and true supporters of the #KAI11 brand.”

Kyrie Irving has not further commented on the matter. Additionally, representatives for Nike have not released any official statements regarding the Kyrie 8 shoe.

It is unclear when Nike’s Kyrie 8 shoes will be made available. Also, Nike itself has not yet announced the shoe to the public.
