As a former White House intern, Lewinsky was at the heart of Clinton’s impeachment scandal after intimate details of their alleged affair were made public. Monica Lewinsky later found herself drowning in public ridicule but this time, she gets to be ahead of the story.
Speaking on the ‘Today’ show, Lewinsky spoke about her dual role as both subject and producer for the project.
“I’ve really worn two hats in this project, as a producer, I’m very proud of the project. But as a subject, I’m nervous.”
She continued,
“I’m nervous for people to see some of the worst moments of my life and a lot of behavior that I regret. If you remember your 20s, not that long ago, it’s pretty cringworthy.”
Monica Lewinsky also addressed how her reputation was ‘thrown to the wolves,’ during and following the public scandal. When asked if she harbored any ill feelings toward the former President she said,
“I think there was a long period before my life changed in the last six or seven years where, I felt a lot in terms of there not being a resolution. I’m very grateful that I dont have this feeling anymore, I don’t need it.”
She added,
“[but] he should want to apologize.”
‘American Crime Story: Impeachment,’ will not only follow Lewinsky and her actions leading up to the scandal but will also focus on Clinton’s role in power and the situation.

Lewinsky, who also has an upcoming documentary 15 Minutes of Shame, shared how the role social media would have played if the scandal happened in today’s society.
“That’s one of the beauties and the beats of social media. More people can be heard, so I might have had a little more support.”
