Kanye West & Black-Owned Tech Company MyChannel Come To Agreement In $20 Million Lawsuit Against The Rapper
Kanye West has settled his legal drama with MyChannel!
Last year, Kanye West was sued by MyChannel, a Black-owned tech company. Kanye West partnered with MyChannel to boost sales on the Yeezy website by “incorporat[ing] e-commerce in video content.” However, Kanye reportedly backed out after MyChannel allegedly put over 10,000 work hours into developing a program.
The company then accused Kanye of stealing the idea and using it to sell Sunday Service merchandise. MyChannel also said the rapper failed to fulfill his end of the agreement, which was a $10 million investment. As a result, the company sued Kanye West for $20 million and requested a jury trial.
Notably, during a court hearing earlier this year, Kanye West reportedly exhibited some strange behavior. As previously reported, Kanye refused to answer any questions during the trial and referred to his own “mental genius-ness.” While doing so, the 44-year-old was allegedly wearing a
“full-face hood and head covering adorned with Jesus Christ’s image which obscured his face and muffled his voice.”
Additionally, Kanye West reportedly proclaimed he’s the
“richest Black man in America and a Black Trump supporter and that he couldn’t be bothered with the deposition because he had lives (and diets) to change.”
Now, Kanye and MyChannel have reportedly come to an agreement and settled the lawsuit. According to recent reports, both parties agreed to a joint stipulation of dismissal. Additionally, Kanye West and MyChannel have agreed to pay their own respective legal fees. Resultingly, the case has effectively been dismissed.
