Wendy Williams Experiencing ‘Serious Complications’ From Graves’ Disease & Thyroid Condition, Show Will Have Guest Hosts
A new update on Wendy Williams’ condition has been announced, and the return of her show will feature guest hosts.
A statement shared on her official Instagram page announced that her long-running daytime talk show will return with “originals” on Oct. 18, stating:
“The Wendy Williams Show will start airing originals on Monday, October 18, with an exciting lineup of guest hosts and panels to be announced shortly.”
It continued with new information on Wendy Williams’ health status:
“Wendy continues to be under medical supervision and meets with her medical team on a daily basis. She is making progress but is experiencing serious complications as a direct result of Graves’ Disease and her thyroid condition. It has been determined that more time is needed before she is able to return to her live hosting duties.”
It concludes,
“Wendy is a valued and stalwart member of the Debmar-Mercury family and has been so for 12 years. We want her health to be her top priority. As soon as she’s ready, she will be back in her treasured purple chair.
We very much appreciate the respect for Wendy’s privacy, as well as all the good wishes from her fans, station partners and advertisers.”

This is comes after Wendy Williams’ 13th season was postponed twice. It was originally supposed to return on Sept. 20th, but her health concerns were first publicized when the show announced she would not do any press leading to the premiere.

The show was then pushed back until Oct. 4 and then Oct. 18.

Amid her health issues, she voluntarily checked into a psychiatric hospital where she stayed for a few days.
Continued prayers for Wendy Williams’ full recovery.
