Reportedly, he had legally bought two rifles just days before the tragedy. Ramos was killed on the scene by officers. Golden State Warriors Coach Steve Kerr delivered a powerful message during his pregame interview on gun control after the Texas school shooting took place. While filled with emotion, Kerr said in part,
“I’m so tired of getting up here and offering condolences to the devastated families that are out there. I’m so tired…There’s 50 senators right now who refuse to vote on HR8, which is a background check rule that the House passed a couple years ago. It’s been sitting there for two years. There’s a reason they won’t vote on it: to hold onto power.”
Moved by his coach’s remarks, NBA star Steph Curry reposted Steve Kerr’s powerful speech and advised fans to watch it. Curry wrote,
“watch this as much as you watch the game tonight…”
