Biggie Smalls – ‘Sky’s The Limit’: Fans Will Be Able To Cop Iconic NFT Collection Of The Notorious B.I.G. In July
It’s official!
OneOf has revealed Sky’s the Limit: The Notorious B.I.G. Collection, a new NFT partnership with the Christopher Wallace Estate.
It’s been reported that the Notorious B.I.G.’s life, words, and fashion will serve as inspiration for the set’s distinctive 3D NFT miniature characters. For the first time ever, a classic B.I.G. freestyle from a 17-year-old Biggie will also be made available to everyone who cops an NFT.
Wayne Barrow, manager of Notorious B.I.G.‘s mother Voletta Wallace and his estate, said,
“Biggie’s music is a very important part of hip-hop culture and it’s global impact.”
He added,
“We named this collection Sky’s the Limit because we believe this is a watershed moment in NFTs where seminal artists like Biggie and their truest fans can drive culture and drive value together. We’re thrilled to work with The Christopher Wallace Estate to honor Biggie’s enduring legacy, in web3 and beyond, and we have some amazing surprises for NFT holders along the way.”
NFT, or “non-fungible token,” is a term for a digital collectible that is bought and traded with the use of a cryptocurrency. NFTs include artwork, music recordings, and tickets.
While the first-ever Notorious B.I.G. NFT “promises to be a banger,” OneOf will work with Biggie‘s family on two other projects over the course of the upcoming year.
The Notorious B.I.G. was shot four times in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles on March 9, 1997. While the person behind his murder has remained a mystery for the past 20 years, it’s since been alleged that the culprit behind the 24-year-old’s murder is Harry Billups, an Islam convert [also known as Amir Muhammad], who’s said to be working in real estate in the state of Georgia.
Sky’s the Limit: The Notorious B.I.G. Collection will be offered on OneOf’s website beginning July 26.
