Lauren London delivered a beautiful speech in honor of late rapper Nipsey Hussle during his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.

The “ATL” actress, who shares a 5-year-old son with Nipsey Hussle, took to the podium as she wished her late partner a Happy Birthday and thanked the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for “acknowledging a visionary.” She said,
“I think I speak for the entire city of L.A. when I say that we’ve always known Hussle was destined for greatness. This moment only amplifies that for us.”
Lauren London continued,
“Nip would have been honored by this moment. I think he would want everyone to remember that you can’t get to what’s possible, unless you commit to moving forward. That doesn’t mean forgetting where you come from, but it requires acknowledging the reality you were born into and the power you have to change that reality for the better.”

The 37-year-old film star added,
“So whenever you’re in the City of Angels and you see this star, I hope it encourages you to break away from whatever might be holding you back and for you to run your marathon until God says that it is finished. Nip will forever live in our hearts. I am grateful for the love and the support the world has shown us but especially I want to thank the city of Los Angeles.”
London ended the speech with the late rapper’s signature sign off. She concluded,
“I love you and as y’all know, the marathon continues.”
Reportedly, Hussle’s birthday (August 15) was officially declared Nipsey Hussle Day in Los Angeles. During the ceremony, Los Angeles City Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson announced from here on out August 15 would be a day to remember the L.A. native.
As previously reported, the West Coast rapper, born Ermias Asghedom, was shot and killed at 33 years old in the parking lot of his Los Angeles clothing store, The Marathon Clothing, in March 2019. After a three-week trial that had been delayed due to the pandemic, jurors found his killer Eric Holder guilty of first-degree murder in July.
