Tory Lanez’ Lawyer Withdraws From Lawsuit Involving ‘Love & Hip Hop Miami’ Star Prince Over Alleged Nightclub Attack
Tory Lanez’s lawyer has decided to step away from his lawsuit involving reality television personality Prince.
According to RadarOnline, 30-year-old Tory Lanez’ former attorney, Christopher E. Ells, dropped the Canadian rapper in the middle of an ongoing lawsuit involving “Love & Hip Hop: Miami” star Prince, real name Christopher Harty. The attorney reportedly asked the court for permission to withdraw as counsel from the case.

In the proposal, Christopher E. Ells reportedly said “irreconcilable differences have arisen between” him and Tory Lanez “which cannot be resolved.” The attorney said he is “unable to effectively represent” the artist. In addition, he told the court it was in the best interest of both parties to let him leave. Recently, the judge in charge of the case signed off on the request.

As previously reported, reality star Prince accused Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, and his entourage of physically assaulting him while inside LIV Nightclub. The singer and his crew allegedly attacked him over a misunderstanding involving a record. On November 8, 2019, the lawsuit against the song-writer alleges he
“verbally antagonized” him and “attempted to engage [Prince] in a verbal confrontation.”
The suit also claimed that Lanez proceeded to punch Prince in the face with a closed fist. It read that he
“escalated his verbal antagonization of HARTY but then began to swing at HARTY and actually punched HARTY with a closed fist.”
The VH1 star said Lanez security jumped in and continued assaulting him at the entertainer’s direction. Prince said as a result he sustained
“blunt force trauma to his head, neck, chest, and back, and suffered from multiple contusions and bruises to his body.”

Reportedly, the media personality was allegedly assaulted again a year later. Prince said while inside a separate nightclub Lanez’ employee attacked him. The suit stated,
“Immediately after punching [Prince] in the face, [Tory’s] employee/agent fled and attempted to enter [Tory’s] vehicle. However, [Tory] yelled at the agent/employee and instructed him to leave the premises in a separate vehicle.”
Prince’s lawsuit reportedly seeks unspecified damages for the alleged physical, psychological, and mental distress “from blunt force trauma” to his body. Lanez said both parties played a role in the fights and argued his actions were done in self-defense.
