XXXTentacion Murder Suspect Files Motion To Have Jail Interaction W/ Kodak Black Used As Evidence Against Murder Charge
One of the individuals allegedly responsible for the death of rap star XXXTentacion is attempting to prove his innocence.
According to reports, lawyers for jailed suspect Derrick Williams filed a motion recently, requesting specific footage of an alleged prison interaction he had with rapper Kodak Black. Williams was arrested in 2018 and plead not guilty to the murder charge of slain musician XXXTentaction. Though the motion reportedly does not express how exactly the footage will help his case, Williams’ lawyers have reportedly stated they strongly believe the video will prove their client’s innocence.
Reportedly, Williams’ lawyer Mauricio Padilla requested footage from Broward County Jail while both Williams and Black, born Bill Kahan Kapri, were incarcerated. Williams had reportedly been in the Florida detention center for a month before the 25-year-old musician arrived for a two-day stint on July 15th. The motion reportedly requested access to the jails camera’s in view of cells 5 and 7 of unit 6A, between 3:00 and 5:00 pm on the 15 and 16 of July 2018. Additionally, the motion reportedly requested any “keep separate orders” to be entered into evidence, which should have kept the two from running into each other.

After being arrested in June, Williams was reportedly identified by a Florida news article as the tattoo artist responsible for the “Roll In Peace” rapper’s ‘Road Runner’ tattoo. The murder suspect circulated headlines back in 2020 after pleading with a judge to be released from jail out of fear of contracting Covid 19. Reports state that Padilla is confident the jail footage will be “vital” in proving Williams‘ innocence.

XXXTentacion, born Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, was gunned down during an attempted robbery on June 18, 2018, leaving a motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach, Florida. He was 20 years old at the time of his murder. Three other individuals, Robert Allen, Michael Boatwright, and Trayvon Newsome have also been arrested for the young rap star’s murder. Allen is set to testify against Williams, Baotwright, and Newsome in the coming trial.
