Yung Miami — Social Media Reacts To Her Dream Of Being The ‘Black Oprah’: Oprah Ain’t Been Black In Years So I Agree W/ Yung Miami

Yung Miami (real name Caresha Brownlee) wants to be the next? Black Oprah Winfrey.

The City Girls rapper and Caresha Please podcast host recently shared that she wants to take things to the next level with her Revolt TV series. It’s worth noting that the network is owned by her boo, Diddy (real name Sean Combs). Yung Miami said,

“I want to take it to the next level. I’m dreaming big. I want to go to the highest of the highest. I want to be the Black Oprah.”

As far as how the Caresha Please came to be, she said,

“People just loving to hear me talk, you know? Whenever I talk or whenever I go on [Instagram] Live, it go viral. One day I was talking with Diddy and he was like, ‘Yeah, [you] should do a podcast. It would be good for you,’ and that’s how it came out. It was just a conversation of me just always going viral off the way I talk and the engagement that I used to get off of Instagram Live.”

While Black Twitter wholeheartedly supports Yung Miami‘s success in the media industry, they couldn’t help but make fun of her ambition to become the next “Black Oprah” given that Oprah is already, well, Black.

One Twitter user said,

“if Yung Miami becomes the next Oprah, she will actually be the first Black woman to achieve this”

“I think Yung Miami should have said she wanna be the “Hood Oprah” vs the “Black Oprah” … Oprah already black sweetheart lol still love her tho”

Even rapper Kash Doll chimed in on the topic. She said,

“Caresha please is really funny as hell … she’s def the next black Oprah”

According to another Twitter user,

“Y’all are dumb if you think caresha is going to actually help black people especially being under diddy (revolt) more than Oprah has even tho y’all say Oprah isn’t for “us” just bc yung Miami is ghetto doesn’t mean she’s going to give back lol”

There’s also the running joke that Oprah isn’t technically a Black woman, despite her skin tone.

A Twitter user said,

“Oprah ain’t been black in years so I agree with Yung Miami”

It’s easy to presume that Yung Miami is making reference to the career success she has been able to attain when she says she wants to be the Black Oprah. Oprah is the richest Black woman in the world, according to estimates of her net worth, which is 2.5 billion. She has won more than three dozen honors for her work as a television host, writer, actress and philanthropist. She is best known for The Oprah Winfrey Show, a talk show that she hosted and that aired in national syndication for 25 years, from 1986 to 2011.
