If anything, Lebron James’ career definitely has longevity!

Yesterday (Oct. 18) the Los Angeles Lakers had their 2022–23 season opener against the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center in San Francisco. According to reports, this new season marks Lebron James’ 20th NBA season. While walking into the stadium Lebron James rocked an all-white suit, white sneakers, and dark shades. His classic fit was seemingly a nod toward the all-white suit he wore during the 2003 NBA draft where he was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick.

Lebron is reportedly two seasons away from tying with Vince Carter, 45, who currently holds the record for the longest NBA career. Carter is reportedly the only player in NBA history to have played 22 seasons in the association, making his debut in 1999 and retiring in 2020.

Lebron fans were more than likely upset to see the star athlete and his team take a loss against the Golden State Warriors with a score of 109 to 123 last night (Oct. 18.). However, supporters of the Ohio native still had a lot to celebrate with the 37-year-old bringing in 31 points, 14 rebounds, and 8 assists, according to reports. As you may already know, LeBron James is considered one of the greatest players in NBA history with four Kia MVPs, four Finals MVPs, four NBA titles, 18 All-Star appearances, and 18 All-NBA nods.

Lebron is setting records and scoring major points off the court as well! As previously reported, Lebron made history earlier this year by officially becoming a Billionaire. He is the first active NBA player to achieve this financial accomplishment.

Reportedly, LeBron has brought in a staggering $387 million on the court, but the majority of his money has come from his business deals outside of the arena. His entertainment company, James and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Entertainment, is worth a reported $300 million, his stake in Fenway Sports Group is worth $90 million and his 10% share of the Blaze Pizza brand has grown to $30 million. In addition to that, he also has a lifetime contract with Nike.

As of now, it’s clear Lebron has no plans of slowing down. He’s been pretty vocal about his goal of playing on the same NBA team as his son Bronny James, 18, (full name LeBron Raymone James Jr.). It’s speculated that Bronny will enter the NBA draft, following his freshman year of college, in 2024.
