Latto Stands By Claims That She Was Never Booked For FAMU’s Homecoming Concert, Says The University ‘Brought Incorrect Information Online’ In An Attempt To ‘Sabotage’ Her Reputation
Latto Stands By Claims That She Was Never Booked For FAMU’s Homecoming Concert, Says The University ‘Brought Incorrect Information Online’ In An Attempt To ‘Sabotage’ Her Reputation
Latto (real name Alyssa Michelle Stephens) and Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) apparently got their wires crossed.
The “Big Energy” rapper recently denied being booked for FAMU’s homecoming event — which also includes City Girls, Saucy Santana, and Seddy Hendrinx.
But according to FAMU, the Atlanta native is wrong. In a released statement, the university said,
“On Sept. 14, 2022, WRLD Entertainment communicated that artists, City Girls and Latto, were officially booked for the 2022 FAMU Homecoming Concert and provided wire transfers reflecting so. Like you, we were extremely disappointed when on Monday, October 25 [sic], Latto announced she was not booked for the event; however, WRLD Entertainment denies Latto’s assertions. She has been booked for the event.”

It’s important to note that the date of the homecoming concert would seemingly conflict with Latto’s tour schedule. She’s currently serving as the opening act for Lizzo’s “Special Tour.”
The day before FAMU’s Oct. 29 event — which is located in Tallahassee, Florida — Latto will be miles away on stage in Dallas, Texas. And after that performance, she’s heading to Denver, Colorado, according to the tour schedule.
Last night (Oct. 25) Latto took to Twitter and revealed that she was initially willing to work something out with FAMU over the mixup but since the university “brought the wrong information online,” she’s no longer willing to figure things out.
However, Latto’s heart is seemingly still in a good place. When a FAMU student tweeted frustrations about the rapper not being on the concert bill she offered them free tickets to her Lizzo concert. She tweeted,
“U in the comments drilling me like it’s my fault & my nice a** still gonna offer u tickets for u & ur homegirls for whatever city u wish on this tour…Dm me”
Despite Latto standing her ground that she was never booked for the event, FAMU’s student body has held nothing back as they shared their thoughts on the matter.
One Twitter user said,
“[Promoter] Zach basically said Latto need to shut her mouth and ask her management about her damn schedule cause she is in fact booked at FAMU”
Another user added,
“FAMU vs. Latto. Im embarrassed.”
According to another Twitter user,
Another user added,
“i can’t believe famu really played w yall like that. Famu just been gping downhill for a long time now. It hasn’t been the same at all since the pandemic”
