Update: Offset Cancels Performance In Wake Of Takeoff’s Tragic Death + Continues To Honor Groupmate w/ Social Media Tributes
Update: (Nov. 3, 2022): Offset is seemingly taking some time off following the death of his group member Takeoff.
According to reports, Offset was scheduled to perform at MGM Music Hall in Boston today (Nov. 3), however, an employee at the venue recently shared that’s no longer happening due to Takeoff’s passing. The event will still go on as planned, but Offset won’t be in attendance.
The “Hannah Montana” rapper also continues to honor Takeoff with social media tributes. In addition to changing his IG avatar to a picture of Takeoff yesterday (Nov. 2), he also recently changed his Twitter icon to an image of his late friend as well.
Original Story: (Nov. 2, 2022): The world is continuing to mourn the loss of Migos group member Takeoff.
As you may already know, yesterday (Nov. 1) the shocking news broke that Takeoff, born Kirshnik Ball, was fatally shot in Houston, Texas. According to reports, Police received a call of a shooting in progress around 2:34 a.m. local time. Officers arrived at a bowling alley and found a dead man, Takeoff, at the scene.
Reportedly, Two other people – a 23-year-old man and 24-year-old woman – were also injured in the shooting and were taken to the local hospital.
Earlier today (Nov. 2) Takeoff’s estranged group member Offset was the latest to seemingly honor the late rapper. Offset, born Kiari Cephus, changed his IG avatar to a picture of Takeoff. Despite the heartfelt gesture, Offset has yet to speak directly on the passing of Takeoff.
Countless celebrities and fans have also taken to the internet to share their condolences and shine a light on the love they had for the Atlanta native. Music producer Metro Boomin, who was a very close friend of Takeoff’s, shared a rare image of his journal in hopes that the entry could help someone during this difficult time.
In a separate post, he added,

SZA revealed that the death of Takeoff brought her to tears.
“This Takeoff sh*t so weird .. I’m genuinely creeped out by the world . I cried . God bless that man’s spirit his family and friends. SUCH A TALENTED SOUL .. ion understand”
Drake shared,
“I got the best memories of all of us seeing the world together and bringing light to every city we touch. That’s what I’ll focus on for now. rest easy space man Take.”
He added that he planned to grow old beside his rap brother.
T.I. wrote,
“My heart hurts so much for the family & the entire team behind this tragic loss of a true Legend. I’m usually the one with the perfect way to articulate thoughts but this has me baffled. Lil bro was a real solid, respectful,honest, quiet, polite kid who conducted himself like a Man of Respect and Stayed out the way. I just pray for peace in the minds and hearts of his family and all who are most affected. The city mourns with you and my family gon keep you lifted up in prayer. Our deepest condolences. DJ Khaled also shared a heartfelt message on his own IG account. He said,
