Yung Miami Responds To Backlash Over Funeral Attire, “What I Wear And Me Taking Pics Has Nothing To Do With Me Coming To Support”
Social media went wild over Yung Miami’s attire and impromptu photo shoot after slain Migos rapper Takeoff’s funeral.
The City Girls, along with thousands of other fans and members of the music industry, attended the elaborate sendoff on Friday (Nov. 11) at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Several photos and short clips of the somber event were posted on social media, giving fans a glimpse inside.

Takeoff
There were images of Chloe Bailey and Justin Bieber performing. Additionally, Offset and Quavo were captured onstage speaking at different times. Rapper Drake also paid tribute to the 28-year-old who was shot to death at a private event in Houston, Texas on November 1.

There was one photo, however, that attracted a lot of attention: that of rapper Yung Miami. Although she wore all black, which is typical for funerals, the style of her outfit caught some people off guard. The 28-year-old whose real name is Caresha Brownlee, was draped in leather. She wore a black mini dress with a sweetheart neckline and black mesh covering the rest of her chest. The outfit was topped off with a leather trench coat and waist-high boots with black sunglasses.

Praise and backlash flooded her comment section after she shared this photo after the funeral on Instagram. She captioned it with,
“Every day the sun won’t shine, but that’s why I love tomorrow.”
Fans debated whether her outfit was appropriate for mourning. In addition, Yung Miami was criticized for fashionably posing for photos afterward. The Caresha Please host quickly fired back at her critics in the comments on The Neighborhood Talk’s Instagram page,
“I came and showed my support and that’s all that matters! What I choose to do after the funeral has nothing to do with anything!!! When my baby father died, I did the same sh*t actually I was shaking my a** in the car. What I wear and me taking pics has nothing to do with me COMING TO SUPPORT AND BE THERE FOR SOMEONE WHEN IT’S NEEDED!!!! NEXT”
Here were some of the mixed reviews she received:
