Exclusive: ‘Xscape’s’ LaTocha Scott Working On Solo Gospel Album

LaTocha Scott is gearing up to put out a solo project!

theJasmineBRAND exclusively reports that Xscape’s LaTocha Scott, 49, will be releasing her very own gospel album next year! According to our sources, the project will be under Motown Gospel and will be released to the public in early 2023. Our insiders shared that this solo project doesn’t mean LaTocha is leaving Xscape and, despite their most recent drama, she still wants to be a part of the famed R&B girl group.

It may come as no surprise that LaTocha is branching off to do her own thing. Sources tell us that on her upcoming Bravo reality show centered around Xscape and SWV, she mentioned putting out music without her group members.

As you may already know, Xscape is an iconic ’90s supergroup that’s comprised of singers Kandi Burruss, 46, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, 47, and sisters LaTocha and Tamika Scott, 47. The ladies made headlines earlier this month following a red carpet appearance at this year’s BET Soul Train Awards. During the ceremony, fans couldn’t help but notice LaTocha’s red carpet attire was drastically different from what her groupmates were wearing. It’s still unclear how the wardrobe mishap occurred, but Kandi Burruss claimed LaTocha used her own stylist and refused to work with the group to coordinate outfits. However, LaTocha claimed the other Xscape ladies purposely left her stylist out of the outfit planning.

LaTocha has also explained why she’s not currently touring with her group, claiming a promoter threatened her husband. In a previous post, she shared,

“The reason I am not doing the tour is because the promoter the girls are on tour with threatened my husband’s life. The promoter was initially brought to the table by my husband for a few shows. Two of the ladies had COVID on the show dates, so my sister and I performed alone in ATL and the other show we had to pull out of. That’s where the deal went left over a situation that could have been resolved!!”
