Update: Kevin Hunter Responds To Backlash For Requesting Monthly Payments From Wendy Williams Are Resumed Amid Media Personality’s Ongoing Health & Financial Issues: Miss Me w/ The Double Standard Sh*t
Update: (Nov. 30, 2022): Kevin Hunter wants the world to know his request to get paid has nothing to do with his ex-wife.
Kevin Hunter is facing heated backlash for filing legal documents to have his monthly payments from Wendy Williams resumed. The former talk show host is currently dealing with serious health issues on top of money problems. As previously reported, she’s allegedly having trouble accessing her funds as Wells Fargo froze her accounts earlier this year.
However, those hurdles didn’t stop Kevin Hunter from demanding his payments from Wendy are reinstated and he’s now explaining why. In a statement released via his IG stories, the businessman said,
“The fact is I’m not being silent anymore. This has nothing to do with Wendy but has everything to do with the people trying to steal Hard earned money that I have worked for and help build.”
He added,
“I didn’t forfeit as much as I did for my son to go through this…miss me with the double standard sh*t as well.”
Original Story: (Nov. 30, 2022): Wendy Williams reportedly had to make drastic adjustments to her lifestyle following her sudden talk show exit in 2021, and it appears her ex wants a piece of the share she was given.
According to reports, Wendy Williams’ ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, filed to have his monthly payments from the former TV host, which were agreed to in their divorce, resume.
In light of his demand for payment, Wendy Williams’ attorney filed that she has not had income from “The Wendy Williams Show” since October of 2021. Opposing Kevin Hunter’s motion, Wendy’s attorney wrote,
“On October 15, of 2021 plaintiff was informed by Talk WW that her contract was being suspended and that no compensation shall accrue or be payable to plaintiff for the duration of plaintiff’s disability and incapacity.”
The TV star’s attorney went on to quote the divorce Settlement Agreement she and Kevin Hunter reportedly signed back in January of 2020. Wendy’s attorney said while reading the exes’ agreement,
“If, for any reason, [Plaintiffs] contract with Talk WW is not renewed and/or is otherwise suspended, canceled or terminated and [Plaintiff] does not have any other television show being aired and paying her an equivalent salary, [Defendant] understands and agrees that all Severance Payment shall be subject to either termination or modification.”
Reports state that Wendy’s attorney continued that her client has not received a salary from Talk WW since October of 2021, just one month after her absence began. The 58-year-old’s attorney added that
“she presently has no other television show being aired and paying her any income, let alone an equivalent salary.”
Reportedly, the TV personality’s absence from her long-running show began in September at the start of her fall 2021 season. Days later, Wendy was hospitalized for a psychiatric evaluation. Wendy was making $10 million a year, or $55,000 an episode, for “The Wendy Williams Show,” according to reports.
As previously reported, Wendy missed the entire final season of her talk show, “The Wendy Williams Show,” as she battled ongoing health issues — including Graves’ disease, lymphedema and substance abuse.
Her longtime production company, Debmar-Mercury, reportedly announced that her show was officially canceled earlier this summer and that Wendy’s time slot would be going to her former guest host, Sherri Shepherd.
