Tory Lanez Sentencing For Shooting Megan Thee Stallion Rescheduled As Rapper Brings On New Defense Attorney
The drama continues as Tory Lanez‘ sentencing for the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion has been rescheduled.
Tory Lanez‘s sentence date has been moved from Jan. 27 to Feb. 28 while his new attorneys get prepared to ask the judge to order a new trial, according to now former Law & Crime reporter Meghann Cuniff.

David Kenner (longtime attorney for Suge Knight) and Matthew Barhoma were given the go-ahead by the judge to represent Tory Lanez, and George Mgdesyan and Shawn Holley were dismissed from the case. Barhoma is reportedly
“known for his successes in vacating convictions for numerous defendants who faced wrongful and overzealous prosecutions and unjust charges.”
According to Cuniff,
“Tory Lanez was brought into court in handcuffs, wearing orange jail garb, two large white necklaces with a cross on each, and a black beanie-like hat. He answered ‘yes your honor’ when Judge Herriford asked if he wants Kenner and Barhoma to be his new lawyers.”
Cuniff pointed out that depending on how long it takes for Lanez‘s new attorneys to obtain the trial transcripts they need to prepare their move for a new trial, sentencing might be delayed again. The Los Angeles-based attorney earned a positive reputation for her unbiased and competent reporting during the high-profile trial.

As previously reported, there is no bad blood between the “Say It” singer and Mgdesyan, noting the reason for the switch of representation is because his now ex-attorney doesn’t handle appeals.
