Tory Lanez Trial Continues W/ Kelsey Nicole Granted Immunity + Lanez’ Attorneys Accuse Her Of Being Megan Thee Stallion’s Shooter

The drama continues during day five of the trial over the 2020 shooting incident where Tory Lanez allegedly shot Megan Thee Stallion — and Kelsey Nicole is also involved.

On Wednesday (Dec. 14), Law and Crime reporter Meghann Cuniff discussed the trial in a thread on Twitter, where she criticized tabloids for the way they handled the situation’s coverage.

She also noted that Kelsey Nicole had been granted immunity, though the district attorney swore they had no intentions to prosecute her.

Immunity is granted by prosecutors when a witness can strengthen their case or the case of law enforcement. Once they do, there are rules that apply.

Cuniff said,

“Btw, I realized that comparing some of the vile garbage that passes for “coverage” of the Megan Thee Stallion shooting to tabloid coverage is an insult to what really is a storied history of real yet boundary-crossing tabloid reporting.”

She also shared,

“Regarding Kelsey invoking the 5th then being granted immunity, judges don’t just allow 5th pleas no questions asked. Judge Herriford had to have discussed it this morning, but the way things work around @LASuperiorCourt, any member of the public hoping to see that is out of luck.”

Cuniff add,

“I’m back on the 15th floor, lined up to get into Judge Herriford’s courtroom for more testimony from Kelsey Harris in Tory Lanez’s criminal trial over the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. Tory’s lawyer admits Megan was shot but says Kelsey was the one who shot her, not Tory.”

Cuniff also shared a bit of testimony given by Kelsey Nicole, the ex-BFF of Megan Thee Stallion. Both Kelsey and Tory Lanez tested positive for gun powder residue following the shooting, though both parties claim neither of them shot the “Plan B” rapper.

Los Angeles Times reporter James Queally also provided updates on the trial via Twitter. He said,

“No explanation as to what the [granted] immunity is for. No comment from Lanez’s defense attorney and Harris and her attorney fled the hallway before they could be approached by reporters.”

He added,

“Kelsey spent a little less than 40 minutes on the stand, saying a lot of her memory of the party was “blurry” because of alcohol consumption. She accused Megan of lying about her and called accusations she shot Megan ‘ridiculous.'”
